Individual Therapy

I work with individual adults who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are trying to make sense of their lives after the changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. They may be exploring their identity, looking more closely at their inner world, or beginning to heal from childhood trauma. I specialize in working with adult children of immigrants, and I understand how cultural expectations, family roles, and unspoken pressure can shape how we relate to ourselves and others. In therapy, I offer a space rooted in empathy, curiosity, and emotional safety. Together, we explore your past, make sense of your present, and build tools to help you move forward with more clarity, self-trust, and connection.

Feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation so we can collaborate on how to help you best.

Some of the issues I address include:

  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Intergenerational Trauma
  • Post-traumatic stress and resilience
  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Bicultural Relationships and Identity
  • Codependency and Attachment issues

Couples Counseling

Couples Therapy

My approach to therapy brings together several models, mainly Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, along with ideas from psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed care, and cross-cultural work. I focus on helping bicultural couples improve their relationships by learning how to co-regulate—calm themselves and each other during conflict.

In my work, I value empathy and curiosity over jumping to conclusions. I help couples see and act out the patterns that show up in their arguments so they can better understand what’s really happening. We look at their conflict cycle together, which helps them see the problem as something they can work on together—not as something wrong with either person. I also help each partner explore how their past experiences and emotional wounds may be affecting their current relationship.

I pay close attention to different communication styles, like direct vs. indirect ways of expressing feelings. I also think about how culture, immigration, and family history shape how people connect and respond in relationships. I believe that real and lasting change happens when both partners feel emotionally safe, truly seen, and able to support each other, even when they come from different backgrounds or ways of communicating.

Premarital Counseling

I am a trained Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and use the Prepare/Enrich assessment. It’s never too early to begin creating a strong foundation for yourselves and your future family!

I provide a five session premarital counseling package. In our sessions, we will:

  • Address expectations of marriage, current stressors, and potential barriers to communication or conflict

  • Practice communication skills and provide insight into how your relationship works and doesn’t work

  • Discover previous family patterns and how they may be impacting your relationship

  • Discover new ways to relate to one another and establish family norms and values that you are both excited about.
